Take & Make Propagation Stations

Come in and grab a fun take and make kit! This kit will provide step-by-step instructions to help create your own propagation station! Once your propagation station is established, you have a hydroponic home for a pothos plant to thrive. Each kit contains one clear test tube, a living pothos plant cutting, and two mini magnets! These propagation stations are great to stick to your refrigerator (or anywhere with strong natural light) and allow you to watch your cutting grow a root system. 

In many cases, water propagation can lead to faster root development compared to soil propagation. The water provides direct access to moisture, which can encourage the roots to grow more rapidly. Once you start to see your test tube fill with a strong root system, you are free to plant the pothos into a pot with soil. Then, you can continue this process as long as you'd like with your new propagation station!

These kits are designed for teens and adults, but there are limited supplies. Please be sure to visit the Butman-Fish reference desk early to secure your kit! One kit per household. 

*NOTE: Glue is not provided with this kit. You will need a strong glue, preferably Krazy glue, to ensure your magnet sticks to the test tube securely.*
