Hoyt Library Elevator CLOSED

Hoyt Library is getting a new elevator! All areas of the library will be open during the installation, but starting Wednesday, January 21, elevator service will be down for approximately 3-4 weeks. That leaves stairs to get into and around the building.

Patrons with mobility concerns can call (989) 755-0904 for assistance or visit one of our other library branches.

Bear
By Julia Phillips
Adult Fiction

I found the book Bear by Julia Phillips in a charming bookstore in Pike Place Market in Seattle. I was drawn to the simple title and its mesmerizing watercolor cover. And I’m so glad I picked it up. Bear brings us a story of two sisters living in the Pacific Northwest whose predictable lives become flipped upside down when an unusual black bear a...

Children’s Non-fiction

The History of We is a wonderful new children’s non-fiction book that reads like a story, because it is a story, our story of humanity, the story of we. Beginning with our origins in ancient Africa, Nikkolas Smith’s absolutely stunning paintings and simple, yet profound verse take the reader on...
