The Lost Library
By Rebecca Stead & Wendy Mass
Children’s Fiction

This story is about a little free library that is guarded by a fluffy orange cat named Mortimer. The beautiful cover pulls you in and makes you want to know more.  You will not be disappointed!  It has been written for children but adults will enjoy this book also.

This is an endearing  mystery told by a boy named Evan, a cat and a ghost librarian.   A little free library appears suddenly in a small town right in front of the historical museum.  Everyone is surprised and this begins to stir up memories of the fire that had burned down the public library many years prior.  But not all want to talk about the mystery behind this happening.  Evan decides to take a couple books from the new little library and those books lead him to investigate a connection between the past and the present. He has no idea of the life changing information  he is about to discover. You will  love meeting every single character in this book. Read it and you will see the power of a good book.

One of my favorite quotes from the book: "Being a Great Reader has nothing to do with reading great sophisticated books, or reading great long books, or even with reading a great many books. Being a Great Reader means feeling something about books."
