You’ll have to print it and fill it out, then take it in to any Public Libraries of Saginaw branch. Applications are kept on file for six months for review in the event of a vacancy.

The Public Libraries of Saginaw is seeking an outgoing, people-oriented, enthusiastic individual who is committed to customer service and to working with other members of the reference team to provide a wide range of information services to the public.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- answering reference questions in person and on the telephone
- providing reader's advisory services
- material ordering and weeding
- designing and implementing adult programming
- instructing patrons in the use of digital books and magazines
- other duties as assigned
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of library procedures, excellent public service skills and experience using Internet resources and Horizon are a plus. Must have a flexible schedule - Saturday and evening work is required. Ability to work well with other staff and patrons, and good communication skills are important.
Minimum requirements include a four-year college degree with applicable library experience.
This position pays an hourly rate of $19.84 - $25.02 in six annual steps. Benefits include pro-rated vacation, sick leave and personal business time.

Library Volunteer Opportunities
The Public Libraries of Saginaw recognizes and appreciates citizen participation through volunteer service. Please note that volunteer hours are based on each library branch's needs and are not always available.
- Volunteers must complete a volunteer application form and be age 14 or older. Volunteers under the age 18 must have written permission from their parent or guardian and present a valid work permit to volunteer for the library.
- Volunteers will be accepted as needs arise. Submission of the volunteer application does not guarantee acceptance as a volunteer.
- Volunteers will not take the place of paid staff. Volunteers will be expected to set, and adhere to, a schedule with the supervisor where they are assigned.
- Volunteers are recognized by the public as representatives of the Library and shall be guided by the same work and behavior code as employees. Volunteers will wear an identification badge when volunteering at the Library.
- Volunteer applicants will sign a liability waiver. Criminal background checks are done for those 18 years or older.
