Description

April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate the Public Libraries of Saginaw is welcoming you to submit to our Poetry Contest! Whether you write in rhyme, converse in couplets, scrawl in sonnets, or frolic with free verse, we want to see your best work!

Teens (13-17) and Adults (18+) can submit their work online here.

Submission Guidelines
-Poetry submissions will only be accepted online.
-ONE POEM PER PERSON may be submitted in this contest.
-Poems may be any subject matter but should avoid swearing or language that incites violence.
-Your poem must be no more than one page in length.
-Poems must be original and not previously published (self-published is acceptable).
-Authors retain copyright to their work.

Award-winning poets Colleen Alles and Maureen Hart from the Friends of Roethke will be judging each submission.

A winner and finalists of each category will be chosen. Each winner will receive a $50 gift card and their poem featured in our library newsletter!

The deadline to submit your poem is April 30th.

Winners will be announced the week of Monday, May 6th.
