Love In a Nutshell is a fun, lighthearted read. I particularly enjoyed this book because it is set in a fictional town near Traverse City, Michigan. Parts of the book take place in Traverse City and Royal Oak, Michigan.
After a divorce and job loss, Kate Appleton returns to “The Nutshell,” her parents’ summer home, and begins her life anew. Her goal is to renovate the rundown home and turn it into a bed and breakfast. First thing’s first, Kate needs a new job. She is quickly hired at a local brewery and is now employed by the town’s most eligible bachelor, Matt Culhane. Sparks fly immediately, but are dampened by unexplained sabotage against Matt’s brewery. Kate gets to work figuring out who may be behind the sabotage, but finds herself in the way of their plans. Not to worry, Matt Culhane is ready, and more than willing, to lend Kate a helping hand.
Love in a Nutshell is a quick read that will keep you occupied during your visits to the beach. Better yet, take it with you to a Lake Michigan beach and you’ll practically be in the setting of the book. Have fun with this one – that’s what it’s meant for.
